How to run your own site.

You never have to touch code. Everything below happens from one page with your phone in your hand.

1. 01Adding a piece with its size and price

   Sign in at /admin, tap “Your pieces”, then “New piece”. Pick the photo straight off your phone, give it a name, put the size and the price in their own boxes, and save. It shows up in the gallery the moment you save it — no waiting, no rebuild.

2. 02Your sizes & prices desk

   Sign in at /admin, then tap “Sizes & prices”. Every piece is listed there with just two boxes — the size and the price. The ones still missing a number come up first. Type it, tap Save, and it shows on the piece in the gallery straight away. Nothing to re-upload and nothing else to fill in.

3. 03Marking a piece sold

   When something sells at a fair, open it in “Your pieces” (or use the Sizes & prices desk) and tap “Mark sold”. The piece keeps its photo and stays in the gallery, but it shows a clear Sold label instead of a price, on the card, in the big view and on its own page — and its Buy button comes off the site. Tap “Back on sale” any time to undo it. You never have to delete a piece or take its picture down.

4. 04The half price offer on the small pieces

   Buy any two small pieces and the third comes at half price — the half comes off the cheapest of the three. It is on the little work only: the T light candleholders, the bud vases and the heart shaped dishes. The paintings and the tall vases are not in it, because they already carry the Christmas sale. Your site works the saving out itself at the checkout, so nobody has to ask you for it. It runs for as long as the Christmas sale does — say the word and I will take it off.

5. 05Your basket

   There is a basket on the site now, with a little basket button in the header. It is only for the small pieces, so the half price offer has somewhere to work — put three of the little ones in and the cheapest drops to half price. Somebody buying a painting still pays for it in one tap, the way they always have. You do not have to do anything to it; it is there and it works.

6. 06Selling online — the Buy button

   Every piece you have put a price on gets its own Buy button on the site, so somebody can pay you by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay from their sofa. You do not have to switch anything on. The moment a piece is paid for it takes itself off the table and shows Sold — so the same painting can never be sold twice, online or at a fair. The money goes straight to your own bank account. Card fees are about 2.9% plus 30 cents a sale, and Vulken takes nothing.

7. 07What happens when somebody buys

   You get a text the moment it happens, and the order shows up in your dashboard with the buyer’s name and what they paid. The price they paid already includes postage, so there is nothing to chase them for — pack the piece carefully, the vases especially, and post it out. That is exactly what the site tells the buyer happens. If a payment ever looks wrong, call or text Curtis and he will sort it.

8. 08Your Christmas pieces

   Your seasonal pieces live in their own section at randyscreation.com/christmas, with its own link in the menu, so somebody shopping for a gift finds them without scrolling past everything else. To put a piece in there, open it in “Your pieces” and tap “Christmas section” in the “Is it a Christmas piece?” row. It moves into the Christmas section and comes out of the main gallery, so it is only ever listed in one place — tap “In the main gallery” to move it back. Your four little bud vases and the three canvases you poured this week are in there already.

9. 09Writing what it is

   A couple of words in Colors (“purple and cream”), the size (“12" x 16"”), and the price as a plain number (“15”) is plenty. The description is one or two sentences about what the pour did — that is what people read before they ask you about it. Leave the price blank and the piece says “Price on request” instead, which is fine while you are still deciding.

10. 10Taking a piece down

    When something sells, open it in “Your pieces” and tap Remove. That one asks for a texted code, so sign in with “Text me a code” if you have not already.

11. 11Linking a vase to its painting, and pricing the pair

    When you pour a vase with a painting, open each piece in “Your pieces”, put the other piece’s name in the “Poured with” box, and save. The two then show as a pair. To sell them together as a set, use the two extra boxes on either one of them: “Price for the pair” takes the one number for both (like 37), and “Photo of the pair” takes the shot of the two of them together on your white backdrop. The set then shows on the home page and at the top of the gallery with your pair price in front. Type the name on either piece and both are linked. Leave it blank and nothing is shown, so nothing is guessed at.

12. 12Your craft fair dates

    Under “Craft fairs” you can add, edit and remove dates. Only a date you mark Confirmed appears on the site — a Tentative one stays in your dashboard and off the page, so nobody drives out for a show that has not been agreed. Put a fair in as Tentative while you are waiting to hear back, then switch it to Confirmed once the organiser has you down. If a date turns out wrong, tap Remove rather than leaving it up.

13. 13If you forget your password

    Open /admin, tap “Text me a code”, and sign in with the six digits. Then ask for a brand-new password. Nobody can read the old one back to you, not even us.
